Statement from the Partnership for Quality Care Regarding President Obama’s Address to Congress

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Last night, President Obama told the nation that this year, we must reform our health care system, and that his budget would be a down-payment on the promise to achieve quality, affordable health care for every American.

Simply put, a healthcare system where one million people lose insurance every year cannot be sustained.  The gaps and inefficiencies of our health care system threaten the health of every American as well as the economic well-being of our nation.  Our current economic crisis only deepens the need to act now.

The 60 million health care workers and caregivers of the Partnership for Quality Care will work with the President and Congress to build a strong, sustainable health care system that will affordably provide the highest quality health care to everyone in America.
